Can I eat a samosa for Navratri?!

Question: Other fasting tips for Navratri would be nice too.

Answers: Other fasting tips for Navratri would be nice too.

Good for you! I admire your resolve! You are supposed to avoid eating non veg obviously, but also no garlic, onions, turmeric, wheat, rice, barley....no grains. So samosas are out. Buckwheat is okay, also sabudana, potatoes....

Obviously these fasting rules are forgiven for those who are pregnancy or have diabetes...and/or any other health issues.

These fasting guidelines really depend on what part of India you are from, rava is eaten in the South but not acceptable elsewhere. Some areas allow for turmeric to be used.

PS: you can make sabudana khichidi or sabudana chi vada without onions.
