What kind of vegetable does the eskimo eat? Do you think they eat those seaweed as a vegetable substitute?!


Question: I am a former chef from Canada and worked in the far north for awhile, and there diet is more a fish and meat diet for the older people, the younger ones due eat vegetables, but it is all imported from the south, apples are $2.00 a pound, tomatos $4 a pound, even a box of cornflakes are $5-6.

There not seaweed eaters, they eat alot of game, meats from the tundra, fish and sea mammals, not one rich in vegetable items, but the do eat some, the growing conditions are not condusive to a garden as they have 2 months of spring like weather and then back to snow or cold temps.

They get any kind of vegetable they like at the grocers..
They travel to the malls on their sno-mobiles and hummers,,

i think they the same vegetable as us because they are human to

As David says... traditional Inuit diet is just about veggie free, especially in the winter.

Nowadays, with chain supermarket and cheap transport, they can get them... still rather more expensive than in most areas.
