Isnt the "puffy taco" just a type of poori?!

Question: Indian poori is made using ATTA (whole wheat flour) & water.
Even salt is optional. There are no other ingredients --- no urad dal, no semolina, no plain flour.

Puffy tacos are made with masa/maseca.

But I agree, it is an Indian knockoff!

Yes, but a little lighter, flakier spanish version =)

Puffy tacos main ingredients~

3 cups corn tortilla mix /masa harina
1/2 tablespoon salt
2 1/4 cups warm water

Poori main ingredients~

4 cups Whole Wheat flour
1 cup Water (approximately)
1 teaspoon Salt (optional)

Very good observation =)

You might be right. The gordita at Taco bell is a wheat flour based -deep fried bread that is then stuffed like a taco. I love them but never made the poori connection until seeing your question.

That's an interesting way to think of it. I guess it could be.

No he is a rapper. Puff T for short.
