Shakesperean foods?!

Question: Shakesperean foods!?
I am doing a high school project and I need to make a food they would eat during that age of Shakespeare!. I want one that is relatively easy and won't cost a lot to buy the ingredients!. I have many common spices here at home!. I would prefer it was more like a dessert also because I would have to let it sit for 12 hours or more to eat it after making it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Believe it or not, a very typical food from that time period would have been mincemeat, with meat in it!. Rich people used so much spices - because they were imported and expensive - that they had terrible indigestion a lot!. Roasted meats of all kinds, whole grain or heavier bread, and honey cakes were common!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
