Ingredients
2 cups cooked moth dal (tender)
1 Large Potato
2 tbs!. fresh coriander (Dhaniya) leaves
1 green chilies
2 tbs!. Chaat Masala
3 tbs!. tamarind (Imli) Chutney
1/4 Medium Onion
1 Medium Tomato
Salt to taste
Instructions

Boil the potato until it’s soft!.
Skin and cube!.
Dice the onion, tomato, green chilies and dhaniya leaves!.
Add everything to a large bowl and mix thoroughly!. You may want to add more chat masala/ imli chutney depending upon your taste!.



Moth Dal Chaat Recipe 2

Ingredients :

* 2 cups of whole moth dal
* 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
* 1 green chillie
* 1 onion
* 1/2 teaspoon Jeera powder
* 1/2 teaspoon Chaat masala
* Few curry leaves

Procedure :

1!. Soak 1 cup of moth dal overnight!.
2!. Once soaked, microwave it in water for about 20 mins!. If you dont have a microwave you can boil the dal in a pan till its tender!.
3!. Strain water out of the dal and set aside!.
4!. Heat oil, add cumin seeds, slit green chilly, onions and curry leaves!.
5!. Add moth dal to this tempering!. Add jeera powder, chaat masala and salt!. Saute well!.
6!. Garnish with finely cut onions and coriander leaves!.
7!. Serve moth dal with curds and sweet ‘n sour tamarind chutney!.

Please NOTE :

1!. Care needs to be taken not to soak moth dal for too long as it may sprout!.
2!. Do not try to pressure cook the dal as it gets mashed up and then doesnt taste like chaat anymore!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Dal Moth ki Chaat

Ingredients:

1/4 cup any chutney of your choice (see recipes below or use store bought
1&1/2 teaspoons Chaat Masala (or store-bought), to taste
1 cup dried dew beans (moth dal), sorted and washed in 3 to 4 changes of water
1/2 cup dried split yellow chickpea (channa dal), sorted and washed in 3 to 4 changes of water
1/3 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon red chili pepper,to taste
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
3 to 4 cups water
2 tablespoons peeled minced fresh ginger
1 medium tomato, finely chopped
4 to 5 scallion, finely chopped
2 to 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1/3 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro, including soft stems

METHOD:

Prepare the sonth chutney and the chaat masala!. Then pace both dals, the turmeric, cayenne pepper, salt, and water in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat!. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pan, and simmer until all the water has evaporated, about 25 minutes, leaving behind a soft-cooked, dry dal!. Mix in the ginger and let cool!.

When cool, mix in the tomato, scallions, lime juice, cilantro, and chaat masala!. Transfer to a serving dish, drizzle with sonth chutney, and serve, preferably at room temperature!.
