I'm thinking cous CousWww@FoodAQ@Com

There isn't a rice crisis!. If you want a more healthful option, though, I'd say try bulgur (cracked wheat that's then steamed) or barley!. Pasta is just as nutritionally deficient (yes, cous cous is a pasta) as rice is!. Wheat berries are similarly shaped to rice with a much chewier texture!. Spelt and kamut are similar to wheat berries!. If you want to go really healthful, shred and steam some cauliflower!. Looks kind of like rice, but better for you!.

But if you want rice, eat rice!. It's still here!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

there really isn't a rice crisis!. certainly there are some shortages and the prices are going up, but it's not at crisis point in the US!. there are no limits on retail sales of rice!. the warehouse stores are limiting the bulk bags of rice because restaurants and small businesses are trying to buy as much as they can before the prices really go up!. food costs are going to continue to rise for us all but rice remains a very affordable food item for your regular cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
