Favorite mexican dessert?!
we are having a cinco de mayo party in school next week, but id like to be prepared for the desert i am supposed to bring!.
i want a purely mexican recipe!.
something that is fairly easy, like cookies, is preferable!.

Polvorones de Naranja (Orange Dusts)
1/2 c shortening
1/2 c butter
1/2 c sugar
2 large egg yolks
1/4 c orange juice
Zest from 2 oranges
4 c all purpose flour
Powdered sugar for dusting
Preheat oven to 400°!.
In a large bowl beat the butter and shortening until light and fluffy with an electric mixer!.
Add sugar, mix thoroughly!.
Add yolks, orange juice, orange zest, mix thoroughly!.
Fold flour in gently with a spatula!.
Lightly dust a work surface with flour, and roll cookie dough to a 3/4" thickness!.
Cut out 2 1/2" circles using a floured cookie or biscuit cutter - you can flour the top of a large drinking glass if you don't have a cookie or biscuit cutter - and place on a greased baking sheet!.
Re-roll the scraps and continue until all dough is used!.
Bake 25 minutes or until the cookies begin to brown lightly around the edges!.
Cool cookies on a rack, and sprinkle with powdered sugar once completely cooled!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
