Answers:
If you go to a latin market, you can find the ripe plantains (yellow ones)!. You peel them cut them in 1/2 " pieces!. In a frying pan add some vegetable or corn oil, and fry them in 180 degrees until golden color!. To make the tostones you buy green plantains!. Peel them deep fry them as the same tempeture!. After you see them crisp outside take them out, prepare a bowl with water, add salt to it and a chop garlic for flavor!. After you take out the plantains, deep them quickly in the water and take them out!. Put the plantains in a clean surface, take a pan and in the bottom of it, smash the plantains!. After the smashing fry the plantains again until golden crisp!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Plantains, Platanos, and Tostones are all the same thing (fried plantains-green banana)!. I'm Puerto-Rican, my family and most puerto-ricans will refer to them as tostones!. In english, it's Plantains!.!. and many dominicans call them Platanos!.

The way you make it to peel the plantain, cut into slices, beat down with a mallet (or a cooking utensil that will flatten), then fry!. We season with garlic and adobo seasoning by Goya!. Finish off by dipping in ketchup!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Salutations
I love Plantanos maduros!. these are the sweet ones!. I have never made them myself, I buy the Goya brand in my local Market(Shop-Rite) Plantain looks like a large Green Banana, it MUST be cooked, and cannot be eaten raw!. the sweet ones are baked!. Tostone are made by frying!. these can be very crunchy and hard to chew!. I personally avoid them for this reason!. but to each there own!. CheersWww@FoodAQ@Com
