My parents fed them to me as a child, but I never cared for them!. I think they are disgusting and nasty as they are nothing more than underwater insects that filter seawater!.
It wasn't until I was in high school and took a biology course that I confirmed that they were indeed INSECTS! They belong to the Arthropod phylum along with spiders, scorpions, millipedes, and more!
Now, as an adult, I won't eat them!. Although, I will devein and cook them for others!. If you like them, good for you!. They do have nutritional content, but to me it's kind of like "Fear Factor" food!. I could eat bull testicles or half-formed duck embryos, but they just gross me out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
