Question: What is the red, sweet spice that comes on pineapple when you buy it on side of the road in Hawaii!? Thanks!!?

I was out in Hawaii several years ago, I stopped by one of the roadside stands up on north shore!. I bought some pineapple in a bag!. It had a red spice on it that was sweet and delicious!. I'm trying to order some, but need a local to tell me what it is!.
