Answers:
It's called mochi!. The gelatinous outside is made of steamed mochi rice which is a short grained rice!. The inside is made of azuki beans cooked and rendered with sugar!. We make it every year at Oshogatsu or New Years!. If you're feeling adventurous, you can put peanut butter or lima bean paste or natto in the middle!. Plain mochi (with no filling) is fried and eaten with kinako powder or put in ozoni soup for the New Year!. All are delicious!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mochi or diafukus
