Fake greens in Sushi?!

Question: Fake greens in Sushi!?
Why are there plastic bits of fake lettuce (or parsley, or grass!. anyone's guess) in containers of sushi!? What are they supposed to accomplish!? Would these sushi-makers go under if they splurged a little and added a real leaf of something!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Usually there's a little blob of wasabi there!. The paper green thing keeps it from touching the sushi!. Some companies now put the wasabi in its own packet, but I think the tradition of the little green thing just stuck!.

A real green leaf would wilt!. It could also make the sushi soggy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

now days it's just used for decoration!. i worked in a restaurant in hawaii and we put them in all of our bento lunches!.
