The term sweet and sour is considered the original oxymoron!. Sweet and sour sauce is usually a sweet fruit base with vinegar added!. The sauce you tried may have had a larger proportion of sweet (what most people prefer) so that the acid portion was not detected by your taste buds!. Lemonade is another example of sweet and sour!. Bittersweet is another term used to describe sweet + sour (acid)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's named sweet and sour sauce and it's usually more sweet than sour!. It's made with pineapple juice or has some vinegar or citrus added for the "sour" part, and the rest is water, sugar, cornstarch and maybe some spices!. Alot of sweet and sour sauces use tomato to make it red, but most places use red food coloring!. It's one of my favorites!. I like it on fried rice and/or chicken!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Depend how you make it!. I do mine with freshly chopped ginger , then ketchup, water or chicken stock, vinegar, sugar, chopped chilies, soya sauce, and cornflour !.!.!.so it's always sweet and sour !!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
