What is a shorba?!


Question: What is a shorba!?

LOL, that's what I thought too at first but I think really shorba is just a generic word for soup, they call it that in the Middle East, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would describe it more as a sauce or gravy or stock!. We usually like to drown our rice with meat and its "sauce"!. Some families prefer more shorba (also called "shora" in punjabi) while others like a drier meat dish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Shorba is the Indian name for soup and is a North Indian dish!.

its usually chicken soup with a tomato base but sometimes people will use beef (like stew meat) or lamb!.
