Can I substitute Aji-Mirin for Shaohsing?!


Question: Can I substitute Aji-Mirin for Shaohsing!?
My recipe calls for Chinese rice wine (Shaohsing) but all I have is Aji-Mirin, which is a Japanese Sweet cooking rice wine!. Can I use that instead!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

sake (smoother and sweeter) OR sherry (dry) are the best substitute for Shao hsing!.

Aji mirin is salted, so adjust the recipe accordingly, if using it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
