Im going to a curry night on saturday, but i hate indian food! help!?!

Question: Im going to a curry night on saturday, but i hate indian food! help!!?
Ever since i can remember i have not liked spicy foods, and when i have, even!.!.!.onions,or chillies anything like that i burn up so badly!
Iv tried Kormas but i dont like them!. I researched a bit in to indians and they do sweet and sour dishes and prawns!.!.!. which i love! ( i could ask 2 have this without spices) but i thought sweet n sour prawns with rice isnt exatly a substantial meal!.
Can anyone suggest anything!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have the same problem!. I tend to stick to naan bread, popadoms and occasionally find something on the menu which has no spice in it!. The last time I went into an Indian, I found a lovely spinach dish!. My tongue goes numb with the mildest spice and my mouth goes numb if I have anything stronger!. I love the smell of a good curry, but can't eat one!. Ask the waiter for a recommendation as there is sure to be something you can eat which isn't English!.

EDIT: Sharlene, when you can't take spice, chicken tikka masala IS spicy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Its a shame your not having chinese food as they do loads of prawns and duck dishes!.

You could get a king prawn curry or a prawn pathia which is (a hot sweet&sour dish) maybe they could make it so its not spicy for you!.
Prawn jalfrezi thats about medium
King prawn biryani with comes with vegetable curry its realy nice although i normally get the chicken one!.

They do different kinds of rice and you can get different nan bread or papadom's neither of these are spices i always get vegetable samosa aswell

Iv never seen duck on the menu at a indian restaurantWww@FoodAQ@Com

There is always the engilsh option on the menu, but if I were you I would ask the waiters if the chef could make you up something with the ingredients you like!. The indian restaurant I use will do this no problem!. Why not give them a ring before you go and have talk to them!. This way you should be able to get something you like without having to resort to the usual omelette!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

treetop, I would suggest you develop a migraine and either stay home or take yourself out to a restaurant where you like the food!.

There will be some English food on the menu, they have omelettes and steak and chips!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't like indian food either!. Either suggest going somewhere else or order a steak and chips!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

some indian food isnt spicy like chicka ticka masala its not spicy at allWww@FoodAQ@Com

Try Prawn Sagwala- prawns and spinach!.
or Prawn kashmirWww@FoodAQ@Com

they always have spanish omlette on the menuWww@FoodAQ@Com

Right, for starter, get a prawn puree (puri) (It's a mild prawn curry on a flat bread!.
You can squeeze lemon juice on it and it is lovely!.

I hate kormas too (urgh!) but for a main course, try something vegetarian like the saag aloo (spinach and potatoes)!.!.!.it's nice and hardly spicy at all!.

This tastes good with a bit of mango and yoghurt chutney mixed in with pilau rice!.

Most of the meat dishes, apart from Korma, are spicy so that's why I said go veggie just for one night!.

I bet you'll look forward to dessert! Lol!.

I was going to say "Oooh, they always have fish and chips or something English on the menu" but it's good to see you stated you would like to explore the new flavours!.

Good on you :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
