I have used it in a US style BBQ sauce when working in Japan, but added Hoisin, Miso, Rice wine vinegar, Garlic, Ketchup and Asian spices, Ginger and Hot pepper spice then broiled a nice striploin steak and added it like most at the end and sliced it adding some as a sauce accompaniment!.
You could added some to your already prepared sauce and some extra garlic and spice it up!. Just remember it is is like molasses and maple syrup, it will burn quickly if overcooked and is quite bitter if it happens!. Add it at the end for nice glaze before taking it off the grill or BBQ!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I add only salt and pepper on good quality steak then grill or pan fry it, serve with fresh green salad and hoisin sauce (as dipping for the steak - like A1 sauce)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
