I have had dog in Viet Nam!. It was actually rather tasty! Culturally it isn't my favorite, but it wasn't bad!.
My understanding is that dog is not an everyday food!. Men have it more often than women, and, at least in Ha Noi, it is more popular at the end of the lunar month, when men eat dog and drink rice wine!.
I have a good Vietnamese friend, an older gent, who no longer eats dog because he has a dog that he is very found of!. Mr!. Binh has said several times that since he has had his dog Laika he no longer likes to eat dog meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They also eat it in Korea!. When I was on a business trip to Seoul I was offered dog meat, but I had to pass because I've had dogs as pets all my life and I couldn't force myself to try it!.
"Cruel" and "gross" are relative terms!. I was raised Jewish and to this day I find bacon repulsive!. Many Asians think that cheese smells like dirty feet and don't eat it while we gorge on pizza!. Hindus wouldn't touch beef and Americans live for 20-oz streaks!.!.

I couldn't eat a dog, they have such personalities! They're sweet, and always show their feelings!. How can anyone eat a sweet dog!?

Sure, I'd try it!. South Korea is where it is eaten the most, by the way!. The American Indian, the western tribes like the Sioux, ate it too, and in fact it was a treat usually reserved for important guests!. The thing to remember is that not everyone has it as good as we do here in the US, so we should be open to things from other worlds if only to appreciate our culture the more!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I have tried it, I didn't realize what it was, I was at an ethnic Fair, It was at a Korean Table!. It wasn't that bad as far as taste!. However I would never would have eaten it, if I knew what it was in the beginning!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

for one, harvesting dog isnt nearly as efficient or as benefiting as cows, chicken, and other produce!.
