What kind of food do you like at weddings?!

Question: What kind of food do you like at weddings!?
is it tacky having mexican food catered for a wedding!? it'd be nice food-chicken, steak, salad, shrimp enchiladas etc!. but do people expect turkey and roast beef!? im doing a backyard wedding and getting it all catered but i don't want to slip into the category of tacky!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Unless these folks are pitching in on the bill they should "expect" whatever the bride and groom decide to serve!. If it's your day - do what feels right for you and your sweetie!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

well then throw a pig in the ground the night before and you will have enough for everyone the day of
usually the best man is in charge of the cooking of the pig

you can do it with chicken or whatever your preference
then add stuff like a small salad bar n such with the floral accents around the scene and such

I would stick to the basics like turkey, roast beef, chicken, swedish meatballs, lasagna, etc!. I think it would be alright to have one or two mexican entrees though!. Not everyone likes or eats mexican food, unless of course they are mexican!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No! I think it would be awesome to have something different at a wedding for once! And most people like mexican, but maybe you could let people know in advance in case they have a special request for something else!. Mexican is a great idea though!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think that, that is tacky at all, if I ever get married I want to do something like fried chicken and french fries and hot dogs nothing special almost like a beach party but at a wedding, I like your idea a lot!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mexican food is delicious and very pretty!. Is it a sit down dinner!?

Wedding food is usually finger foods!. People do not want to get food all over their hands!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Not tacky at all!. I think it sounds fantastic! I love deviations from the perceived 'norm' as far as wedding food goes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's your wedding have whatever you like!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
