Can you use the green parts of the leek?!


Question: Can you use the green parts of the leek!?
I noticed that most leek soup recipes do not use the green part!. Can this be used!? Any suggestions for how to use the green parts of the leek will be appreciated!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

In the recipes Ive used just the white and sometimes the yellow-green, but not the tops!. I don't use them any more, they are expensive for the amount of unable product also they are a pain to wash!. I find using onion is OK!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can use them in the stock, when you make it!. but you have to take it out before you make the soup!. it just isnt good flavor, or texture!. but thats one way to utilize it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's edible but not very good in soups!. It gets a stringy texture even after pureeing soup , that feels like hair!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes i just made one and all gone belissimo soup use all and add one clove of garlic and thicken with corn flourWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, we use all parts of leek in one roasted dish with pork or fry with eggs!.Tasty!Www@FoodAQ@Com
