Do you know a lot about indian food ?!
Okay, here is my situation!.
Im going for a meal with a few friends to say goodbye to someone thats moving away!.
We are going for an indian meal and i don't know what kind of food is spicy or not, so im going to feel like a right fool if i pick something really hot and im unable to eat it =\
Any suggestions !?
I need to know a few types of curry or whatever and thier spicy-ness levels =)
I want something thats mild and not too spicy, but at the same time not too weak!. Something in between!. (And made with chicken and not beef or pork)
Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm Indian!. Khorma dishes have a yougurt base & are usually less spicy that most curries , tandori dishes are medium spicy ,it is best to be guided by the restaurant staff Not only will they suggest dishes that suit your requirments, the chef will be prepared to adjust spices to suit your needs!.
As already suggested ,there is nothing like a bowl of yogurt to help a sesitive palate,a tall glass of chilled lassi ,not only rounds off an Indian meal very well but being yogurt based is helpful too!.A green salad not so common with Indian meals will also be a good dish to have on the table, rice & bread balance spices!.
For those who find the dishes low key a small bowl of pickle or chutney is an usual accompaniment to an Indian meal !.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This should be a great adventure for you!. Before you go, check to make sure the restaurant is not strictly vegetarian, as a lot of southern based restaurants are!.
Tandoori chicken would be great for you, as well as curry chicken, and they can accommodate you spice preference!.
You should have access to delicious breads like nan to assist with eating your dinner!.
A few condiments that will compliment your dinner are cucumber raita, tamarind chutney, and coconut chutney!.
They also serve cooling drinks like mango lassi which go well with your dinner!.
Have fun!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you get the chicken vindaloo or chicken tikka you should be okay!. Most restaurants can accomodate the level of spice to your liking!. They can also suggest a few dishes that are less spicy!. You will also have bread or rice to off set the spice!. Indian food is really good esp once you have found your favorites!. Enjoy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
