Stick with Thai beef or chicken!. I lived in Bangkok for 2!.5 yrs during the vietnam war and Thai food is my favorite!. BEWARE! Thai food is traditnally VERY SPICY & HOT!. Order without the heat factor if you are adverse to hot/spicy cuisine!. I LOVE THAI WOMEN! Wish I was back on the beach in Phuket right about now!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Tell the waitor that you are allergic to shellfish to avoid hidden ingredients!. Most thai food uses fish sauce as an important seasoning, but that is made with fish, not shellfish!. (Don't worry, it's not gross tasting)

I'd recommend ordering pad thai!. Usually it comes with a little bit of chicken or shrimp, so specify chicken!. It's mostly noodles and is one of the most popular thai dishes!.

Chicken satay is also really good!. It's flavor grilled chicken on a skewer with a couple of great dipping sauces!. It's an appetizer!.

Then I'd recommend sharing something more adventurous like one of the curries!. It tastes nothing like Indian curry, so don't even consider whether you like Indian curry when deciding whether you'll try Thai curry!. You can specify how mild or spicy you want it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

thai spring rolls, or egg rolls!. chicken or pork steamed dumplings!. Whenever I have a "newbie" I suggest Pad Thai if they like sweet (peanuts are in this, as well as egg), also Lard Nar (brown gravy), any stir fried dishes are good!. I would keep away from the curries until you get more accustomed to it- it can be very overpowering!. also, fried rice is good (I like pineapple fried rice)Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can't believe someone here mentioned shrimp for you!

Anyway, all the foods mentioned are great, but I want to add TOM KAH KAI, which is coconut chicken soup!. It is absolutely delicious! Not too spicy, but smooth and delicious!. You can let it cool down if it is warm where you are, as it is delicious even in summer!. Yummy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Chicken satay
Thai spring rolls
pad thai (ask if they use fresh or dried shrimp) if they do, golden noodles are also good
Or, the green curry!. I order this almost every time I go to my favorite Thai restaurant, but only if you know you like curry!.
iced tea or coffeeWww@FoodAQ@Com

Thai chicken is good with rice and a ice tea!. Be careful if you get the egg roll that they dont fry it in oil you are allergic to!. And if you like it spicy have them add alittle hot sauce to it!. Yummy but hot!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pad Thai usually they will let you choose the meat or veggie!. The restaurant can make things spicy or not!. You should try the Thai Iced Tea and satay for appitizer!.

For main course, go for red curry and thai fried rice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

massaman curry!. (not sure i spelled it right)
but either way, its an incredible peanut and coconut based curry with meat of your choice!. It usually comes with cilantro and sprouts as well!. Its amazingn! I love it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pad thai! It's a delicious noodle dish with peanuts, bean sprouts and sometimes lime, and you can get it with either chicken, shrimp or tofu!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
