Answers:
Pizza orginiated in Italy!. But it has been embraced by Americans thanks to Italian immigrants in the 1800's, and now New York and Chicago both have their own "style" of pizza!. And it's remotely different from the original Pizza Margherita!.

American Cuisine:

Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Meat Loaf; Gumbo, Jambalaya, and all manner of Cajun anc Creole cooking; BBQ of all sorts, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls, Fortune Cookies, Coca-Cola, Dr!. Pepper, Clam Chowder, Sourdough Bread, PoBoys (or Grinders, Subs, Hoagies), Philly Cheesesteaks, Cobb Salad, Waldorf Salad!.!.!.!.I could go on and on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1!. Because we have adopted it and made it our own - the way we make it here in the States is vastly different from the way they make it in Italy!.

2!. BBQ is an American invention stemming from the move westward and the cattle drives!. Anything containing corn, tomatoes and potatoes is part of the American cuisine as these are all foods native to the New World and the Americas - they were virtually unknown in Europe and Asia before the Europeans invaded the Americas!.

Actually, the pizza we eat is American!. Now, pizza comes from Italy (earlier versions may have existed in Greece) but the dish had mostly died out in Italy!. The pizza craze began in New York by Italians who of course loved old world food!. It caught on, as you know, and was reintroduced to Italy!. Now when you go there, you get American style pizza!. Go figure!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most Americans think Pizza is American due to its popularity, and because unfortunately, most of them are ignorant of history, geography, etc!.

We have alot of cuisine that is created from our variety of ethnic groups, and the food is awesome!
