Well what is your recipe like, and what are the ratios of dashi to miso paste!? I recommend this ratio:
* 3 cups dashi soup stock
* 1 block tofu
* 3-4 tbsps miso paste
* 1/4 cup chopped green onion
OR
* 2 teaspoons dashi granules
* 4 cups water
* 3 tablespoons miso paste
* 1 (8 ounce) package silken tofu, diced
* 2 green onions, sliced diagonally into 1/2 inch piecesWww@FoodAQ@Com

Miso paste is very salty, you don't need to add salt!.
Boiled water than add the miso paste (add them gradually, so you can taste them)!. If it's too salty, just add water!.
I don't recommend adding dashi because it will make it more salty!.
After you've reached the right consistency, add the chopped scallion and tofu!.
Hope it works!. If not, you can use the instant miso soup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I can see from the picture that you are using the powdered miso that has the dried tofu!?!? Try adding more water and if it doesnt have the flavor you desire add a little bit of soy sauce!. Never add salt!! Try using the miso paste for the best taste if not then trya nd use fresh tofu!.!.!. I eat miso all the time!!! Mmmmmm best soup ever!.!.
