For the first several times, I thought I was eating a bland tomato based and sometimes 'clearish' stock clam chowder!. I did not wonder what the chewy bits were since I had eaten so many bad chowders in the US where they overcook the clams!.
Gotta admit when I finally looked at some big chunks and asked what they were!.!.!.well, I was a little grossed out!. It was too late by then as I realized I had been enjoying them for some time!. (Dang!)
I gotta tell you, think of myself as a serious cook!.!.!.!.but frankly, I would not buy it and have to learn how to make it for anyone!. In a restaurant, i will eat it and like it if cooked by a proffessional!.!.!.
(You know i would not tell a ----- this, but frankly I think it should be used to make the broth and then tossed out before serving!. I am not sure you would get the right dietary benefit, though!.)
edit: Sheesh! i forgot to say that it is the only actual hangover cure i have ever found! It was a smart move in South Ameica when a friend drug us to a "late night "!.!.!.actually morning joint that served a tripe or pigs foot soup - both will with their high protein broth cure the "alkyhol" blues!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, it tastes really good if they do it properly!.!. I like to top it up with lots of chopped parsley and put a jalapeno or two into it for a nice spicy kick!.!.
Well, tripe is not unusual to me, I'm Chinese and we eat all types of stuff, so nothing wrong with a little 'lining of the cow/sheep's stomach'!.!.
By the way, have you ever heard of the saying, 'Whichever part of the animal you eat will make that 'part' of your body stronger!?' Ha ha ha, that's what we Chinese believe anyway!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've never had Menudo but I've eaten tripe before and it's quite tasty!. I usually have it in Pho' it's a Vietnamese Noodle Soup, my Hispanic friends compares it to Menudo so maybe it's similar!? It's usually a small portion in the soup so I don't mind!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
