Is there a more common ingredient that can be used instead of Tahini in recipes?!

Question: Is there a more common ingredient that can be used instead of Tahini in recipes!?
Occasionally I get a recipe that calls for it but I don't want to buy a whole jar for the one tablespoon I need!.
I understand a substitution won't be exactly the same but is there anything that would be comparable or similar!?

I once bought a jar (rather expensive) and it sat in the fridge for years until I tossed it!. I only used maybe 3 tbsp in all that time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

peanut butter!. it has the same texture, and similar flavor to tahini!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some health food stores sell sesame tahini in bulk, so you can buy a little or a lot

You should also check to see if you have a Middle Eastern market nearby - as they would probably offer it in bulk as well!.

Peanut butter and sesame tahini are NOT interchangeable!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you know tahine is a sesame seed paste!. subtitute to this will give you different taste of what you are doing!.if the call for tahine is for hummus or baba ganoush you can't put peanut butter on it!.lolWww@FoodAQ@Com

TAHINI Substitutes: sesame butter (thicker) OR 3 parts creamy peanut butter + 1 part sesame oil OR toasted sesame seeds (for hummus) OR toasted sesame oil (for hummus) OR peanut butter (for sauces)
