Question: What's the best mexican restaurant you've ever eaten at!?
Answers:
A two-story, family-owned place in Ensenada, Mexico which is an hour south of Tijuana!. It might have been La Tortuga!. They were a few blocks from the beach and served these grilled half-lobsters on a big platter!. Most delicious Mexican food I've ever had!.

As far as Tex-Mex I've found in the U!.S!., I like On The Border, Chevy's, and Baja Fresh!.

Oh hell! I almost forgot Tito's Tacos on Washington Place in Culver City, California!. There's a line outside that place all day long, it's so good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Since my hubby is Mexican we only eat at authentic Mexican places!. I live in Vancouver, Wa (Portland Oregon) My favorite places are Colimas (They give you homemade tortillas with everything) Cuatro Caminos (There tacos are the best, they garnish them with cilantro, onions, salsa and lime on top, and radishes on the side!.) El Rancho Viejo is really good, and Casa de Tamales in Portland (They have over 50 different kinds of tamales!. My favorite thing is the grilled asparagus with bacon wrapped shrimp on top and a cream sauce!. ) I don't like any Mexican food like Baja Fresh or Del Taco because they are not authentic!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You won't believe this but it was a converted gas station in El Centro, California!. The only seating they had was picnic benches out by where the gas pumps had once been!. On a hot day you could just about melt sitting out there but it was soooo worth it because they made deep-fried quesadillas smothered with sour cream, chopped veggies and shredded cheese that about made you want to weep with joy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is hard to bet the ubiquitous chain of taco shops ony found in San Diego County (Roberto's, Rogberto's, Alibertos, etc!.!.!.)!. three tolled with guac, Carne Asada burritos, machaca torta's etc!.!.!.

Well, maybe a shade better is "El Indio" tortilleria in North Park [!?] above the Airport!. Cannot get any fresher tortillas!.
I travel the San Diego frequently-it always the first place I stop for lunch!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Bessy Walls in Orange, California !.!.!.!.!. They don't serve the standard burrito/enchilada/tamales with rice & beans and cheese smothering everything!. They serve things like fresh snapper with Pico de Gallo salsa; in fact, everything is very fresh and lightWww@FoodAQ@Com

A little tiny family run place in San Ignacio Springs in Baja California (Mexico)!. They had the best freshly caught scallops and enchiladas I have ever eaten!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
