Does anyone know how to make the African dish "Palm Butter" ?!

I was a nanny in Florida last fall for an African-American family that I no longer communicate with!. One day shortly before I left to come home, the mother and cousin spent all day in the kitchen making what they called "Palm Butter"!. I'm not sure where the name came from, because it's not like butter!. I know that they used some kind of meat and palm oil, and it had to be cooked in a pot like stew for a very long time!. They served it over rice, and it was just so delicious!. If anyone knows how to make this, I would be so grateful if you could share the recipe with me!. Thank you SO much!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
