Need the name of a Polish Dessert?!

Question: Need the name of a Polish Dessert!?
I went to a Polish bakery today, and tried a wonderful pastry that the woman said was called "Badjad Erka"!. It looked like a large chocolate donut hole, sprinkled with coconut flakes and filled with a fruit compote of some sort!. Delicious - but there's nothing available on the web about it!. Is there another name for it!? Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
The dessert you described is called BAJADERKA - you were quite close :) - it's one of my favourites!.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any other names for it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

eh, I'm polish and I have no idea what you have just described!. There is no such name of a desert in my language and the description doesn't tell me anything!.

you can try searching the web looking maybe for a photo of your desert or give me more details/ask the lady to write you the name of this pastry!. I will give you some key words to look for!.!.!.

Donuts are in polish "p?czki" only we shape them different (without holes)!. Another traditional pastry for Fat Thursday (not Tuesday) is called "faworki" the names and photos you will find here http://www!.24cukiernia!.pl/ciastka!.html among there there are WZ, eklerka, pty?, kremówka, napoleonka which are probably the most popular cookies that are bought at bakeries!.
Bakery is in polish "cukiernia"
Maybe you wanted to write "babeczka"!? This is no one particular type of pastry, but more a sort of hmmm!.!.!. a pastry of certain shape that can have different filling
The one that fits your description would be maybe something like this http://www!.24cukiernia!.pl/ciastka,4,161!.!.!.!. but in here it doesn't have any special name - just "French with peach" (this particular type of pastry is called French) or perhaps it has been a kind of dro?d?ówka, which is again a type of pastry and can have different things added to it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the only thing you have to know about polish pastries ,is that there as many different pastries as there are people making them and the variations will make you crazy ,trying to keep them all straight ,but what you described sounds a lot like some I have had from a small polish settlement near my home ,they are called dijkolskaza(pronounced cholksakas
they are coffee flavored balls dipped in honey and rolled in chopped nuts and filled with either poppy seed filling or a fruit jam made from apples raisins ,prunes and apricots with a small amount of beef tallo and this is cooked til itis very stif ,when it is cool they add apple brandy to it to make it softer so they can inject it into the balls !.these are usually made around the mid summer to early fallWww@FoodAQ@Com

there are also the donut-like pastries that are served on Fat Tuesday (before ash Wednesday) called Paczci (pronounced Poonch-kee) try them, they're great!.!.!.oh and Kolacky (colash-kee) those are even better!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The name in Polish is "BAJADERKA"!.
