I am pretty sure it is a "tuna" (no, not the fish)!.!.!.they are called "prickly pears" in the united states!. They are the little "fruits" that grow on a cactus!.
They are okay!. You'll either love them or hate them!. I don't like them much!. It's my guess that you have a kind of egg-sized, egg-shaped pinkish green fruit with some little spines on the outside!? Thats a tuna!.

Prickly pear, a fruit that grows on a Mexican cactus or nopal!. I have eaten both red and white varieties and both are pretty good, however, you do have to peel the skin off before you can eat them because it is kind of thick and has spines!. Some are sweet and juicy and full of seeds like a guava!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
