Most Chinese (middle-class in major China cities, and Chinese community overseas) finish their food; remnants are discarded, never kept for human consumption!. Not that it will go bad but they prefer to enjoy their food hot off the wok!.
Re-heating Chinese food is a major bummer - looks awful, little nutrition value, just a tummy filler!. BUT there is a Chinese dish that combines yesterday's cooked remnants - such as roast pork, roast pork trotters, roast duck pieces - with fresh Chinese green mustard vegetables (gai-choy), whole dried chillies, ginger, tamarind and others to come up a remarkably delicious stew-like concoction that's chilly-hot & sour - great with plain white rice!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Put a little water in a frying pan & bring to a boil!.
Add rice dishes & heat until water is absorbed!.
Put 2 tbsp of oil in frying pan, add sliced onion/peppers!.
When softened, add chinese vegetables & some water!.
Or place veggies in steamer over some boiling water!.
Same with meat dishes, add water, heat sauce & then meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Trick from an Old chinese lady that we get our food from- if you make a plate and put it in the microwave to heat it up- put a moist paper towel over the top of it and it comes out nice!. How do I know- we do it all the time to keep our rice from drying out along with the noodles!. Works like a charm!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The rice you can warm in the microwave covered(microwave cover or paper towel) with a touch of water(make sure you don't over warm it)!. The things like wantons, egg rolls, spring rolls etc!.; you can heat in your oven/toaster oven it gets nice in crispy!.
