I would have to say there are so many popular food in India!. We have different cuisines, so the popluar food for each would differ!. To name a few:

Bombay chat: Pav Bhaji, Bhel Puri, wada Pav
South-Indian: Idli/Sambhar, Masala Dosa
North-Indian: Tandoori Roti and sabji (like Malai Kofta, Navratan Korma etc!.!.)
All these dishes are vegetarian since I am one!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ooooooh difficult one that,I would say regardless of how many ethnic minorities are held within the UK its got to be Sunday roast ,normally comprising of meat(beef, lamb, pork, chicken or turkey) accompanied by a selection of vegetables!.
However,in North East Uk amongst schoolchildren there seems to be an affinity for chips and gravy and all things fattening!.
No wonder we're starting to hit epidemic proportions of obesity!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pad Thai- Flat rice noodles with peanut sauce, lime juice, bean sprouts, tamarind paste, sugar water, fish sauce, chiles, scrambled egg, spring onion, and chicken or shrimp!. It's a delicious combo of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy!. You should try it at any reputable Thai restaurant!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
