Does anyone know of an alternative to soy sauce?!
Regular soy sauce is loaded with sodium, and even the lower sodium kind is pretty salty!. I just wondered if anyone used something healthier as a substitute!? Or does anyone make their own!? And if so, how do you do it!?

When I go out for Japenese food I always use the low sodium soy sauce, becauase I prefer the taste of the low sodium compared to the regular!. When I make my peppered steak I use Dales Steak Sauce instead of soy because I think the flavor taste better, I have never had any complaints about my pepered steak!. soy sauce is a fermented sauce and/or fungus made from soybeans, roasted grain, water and salt!. i guess salt is used to prevent it from getting spoiled! no fermentation using water and salt, no soy sauce!. low sodium soy sauce might be the way to go!. you may want to use it over foods that really needs salt IE; over unsalted steam rice and vegetables!. you may be able to mix it with lemon juice and use it over seafood IE; fish!. could use it as a substitute for salt as much as possible! peaceWww@FoodAQ@Com

You can try Bragg liquid amino, which still has 110 mg sodium per 1/2 teaspoon but it has no salt added!.
