A question for Jewish people!
Someone gave me a jar of gefilte fish!. Can you tell me how it is to be eaten and what would taste good along with it as to a menu!. Thank you for your help!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Gefilte fish is usually eaten as part of a breakfast, lunch, or as an appetizer before a dinner!. Traditionally, it is eaten more frequently during Passover!.!.at many of the meals, not just the Seder dinner!. In any case, it is served cold or at room temperature!. Gefilte fish is jarred in either broth or jelly!.!.that's really just to keep the fish moist!.!.we only put the fish on the plate!. Just stick a fork in the jar and gently lift out each fish, letting the residual broth or jelly drip off back into the jar!. There will still be a light coating on the fish, which is what you want!. It can be served in one inch round slices, or even whole if the gefilte fish isn't very large!. It is usually served with a side of horseradish!.!.either white or red!. Many people prefer red because it is mixed with beet juice which makes it a little sweeter and milder (but it's still got a nice bite to it)!. If you are looking to add other types of food with it for a breakfast or lunch, classic accompaniments would be matzoh (unleavened bread), especially during Passover when observant Jewish people don't eat any breads that rise!. Or, if it's not Passover, you can still have matzoh or bagels!.!.either bread goes well with cream cheese and lox, along with tomato and red onion slices!. You can serve all these on separate plates and let everyone make their own matzoh or bagel sandwiches with whatever they choose!. Perhaps you can also have a side dish like cole slaw or cucumber salad or even regular salad or any combo of those!. Pickles fit well into this type of meal, too!.

You can eat it straight out of the jar, chill it and cut it in patties, or serve it on slices of toast!. You can also make dumplings and serve it in soup!.
It's an acquired taste, so I wouldn't recommend serving it at a party or a dinner!. My grandmother is an awesome cook who can make the best dishes ever, but I still don't care for gefilte fish!.
