Moshi Moshi is a Japanese greeting used traditionally when answering the phone, I am surprised that was used in a restaurant!.
The traditional greeting used in a Japanese restaurant is "irasshaimase," which means, "please come in" sometimes followed by "konichiwa" which means "how are you!?"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i think u mean "moshi-moshi"!. moshi moshi is commonly used when answering the phone - not for greetings!. in a restaurant, ppl would usually say:
- ohiyo (hello - informal)
- ohiyo gozaimasu (hello - formal)
- konichiwa (means good afternoon - NOT how are you)
- konbangwa (means good evening - like at dinner time)
hope that helped :DWww@FoodAQ@Com
