What can I use in place of mango chutney!

Question: What can I use in place of mango chutney
I'm want to prepare a new recipe for Cool Caribbean Pumpkin Soup that says to "serve with a dollop of Mango Chutney"!. I'd like to use something a little more ordinary!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
You could use Apricot preserves or Apricot Jam (if you add a tiny bit of cayenne pepper and lemon zest to the chutney, it gives it some really good zing that contrasts the soup)!. Another option is to use a tiny bit of sour cream or ranch dressing dip (I know, sounds weird, but is really good with vegetable/squash type soups)!.

Another option is to use regular chutney (not mango), but that seems too obvious and I think you've already thought of that!.

This is making me hungry!. ;o)Www@FoodAQ@Com
