This is an easy one that uses canned pinto beans instead of having to soak dried ones for hours:

Refried Beans

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ancho chili powder, or other chili powder
1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, preferably low-sodium, drained and rinsed
2/3 cup low-sodium chicken broth, plus more if needed
Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro leaves

Directions:
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat!. Add the onion and cook until tender, about 3 minutes!. Stir in the garlic and chili powder and cook for 1 minute more!. Stir in the beans and chicken broth and cook until the beans are warmed through, about 5 minutes!. Mash the beans coarsely with the back of a wooden spoon, adding more chicken broth to moisten, if needed!. Season with salt and pepper, to taste!. Stir in the cilantro!.

Refried Beans
1 lb Dried Pinto Beans (Seems to me I used canned!)
1 tbs salt
1 tbs sugar
3 Cloves of Garlic
! tbs Sugar
1/2 cup Bacon Drippings
1/4 cup Bacon Drippings

Directions

Follow the cooking dirctions on the package of beans!. The directions usually say to first check the beans and remove any bad beans or rocks!. Then soak in a large pot of water over night!. Then pour of the water and rinse the beans until the water is clear!.

Place the beans in a pot of water, add the sugar, and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for three hours until the the beans are soft!. You may need to add water from time to time!.

Add the 1/2 cup of bacon drippings, garlic cloves, and salt!. Cook for one more hour!. Drain off all of the water!.

In a large skillet heat the 1/4 cup of bacon drippings!. Then add the beans and fry and stir continually until the beans are reheated!. Then mash the beans with a potato masher and fry some more!. You can add water or milk to get them the consistency that you like!. Add salt to taste!.
