Question: Left a 3 lb!. roast by the freezer yesterday at noon,it's thawed but cool, about 60-65 downstairs, can we eat it!?
Answers:
Just wash it, and cook it!. Make certain the internal temperature of the roast has has reached 160 deg Fahrenheit for bird, 140 deg Fahrenheit for red meatWww@FoodAQ@Com

Throw it out!! You can't leave meat out at room temperature for more than two hours because bacteria on the surface of the meat begin to multiply rapidly at room temperature!. It doesn't matter if it was frozen or not!. 65 degrees is too high of a temperature anyway since meat needs to be kept below 32 degrees!. The only safe way to thaw frozen meats is in the fridge!. Do not cook it and serve to your family and take the chance that you all will get sick!. Besides, 36 hours is way too long for it to have been left out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it was frozen when you left it out, then it may be ok since the room is cool!. If you have a meat thermometer, that would be best!. I wouldn't eat it if the meat has reached 60!. Make sure it's not slimy, and make sure it doesn't smell!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

If your roast doesn't smell spoiled then it's okay to cook!. A roast will be cooked for several hours in liquid in order for it to be tender!. By that time any bacteria that it possibly will have will be long dead!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Any other meat or poultry, I would say, no! Beef however is sometimes hung in a cool place to age, unrefrigerated!.!.!.so it should be fine, as long as it was wrapped and still cool to the touch and smells Ok!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

absolutely you can!. since it was frozen to begin with, it wasn't nowhere near the "danger" zone for the entire time!. I would not eat it rare but definetly well done is safe!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the old saying goes!.!.!.!."when in doubt - throw it out"!.!.!.!.

if it is ok!.!.!.!.you got lucky - if not - be prepared for the whole family being very ill afterwards!.!.!.!.!.

throw it out - not worth the risk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Before refrigeration was invented, people ate roasts!. If it doesn't smell bad, it's likely to be fine!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
