Most of the rice that is sold as white rice and brown rice come from the same plant!.
After the rice paddy is dried, the husk is removed!. After the husk is removed the grain is brown!. This is brown rice!. Brown part is actually bran!. After bran is removed, the rice is dirty white!. The dirty white grain is polished to make it white rice!.
Therefore, the white rice has less fiber and B vitamins than the brown rice, because brown rice still has a bran layer on the grain!.
