Question: Does Indian Cuisine try to give a little eye-appeal to the dish!?
I had some Tandoori Chicken earlier today!. The taste was better than average and the food was colored red!.
Do they try to make the meal look good as well as taste good!?

Most of the people believe that the main characteristic of Indian food is hot and spicy, its misplaced!.
Two basic characteristics are color and aroma!. It appeals to your eye and your nose!.
For color common spices used are: Turmeric (Yellow), Saffron (Orange yellow), Degi Mirch (Crimson Red), Ratan Jot (Purple Red), Maval petals (Orange Red)
Almost al the spices are aromatic: Cinnamon, Cumin, Cloves, Nutmeg
Traditionally, Tandoori chicken gets its red color from Degi Mirch and Ratan-Jot!. These are expensive, so most of the people just use edible food coloringWww@FoodAQ@Com

I kinda noticed that they do I mean why do you think their rice is tri-colored yellow white and red and why do you think their chicken is sometimes pink!. Indian food is fun and yes very tastyyy :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
