Question: Other than wasabi powder + Mayonaise, what else do I need to make a wasabi mayonaise dressing for sandwiches !?
I want to make a Wasabi mayo spread using the green wasabi powder!. Is there anything else that goes into this to give it a better flavor or do I just mix the 2 together and that's it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

For a basic wasabi mayo, yes that will work!.

You might want to have some sugar, garlic and a little soy sauce!.!. maybe a little lemon juice too!.!. just to experiment around!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here are some recipes that use wasabi and mayo for sandwiches;

Seared Ahi Sandwiches with Wasabi Mayo, Romaine & Cucumber

1/2 lb!. ahi tuna
Salt pepper
1 French-style baguette
Wasabi paste, to taste
1/2 cup good-quality prepared mayonnaise
1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
Sesame oil
Romaine leaves

1!. Generously coat the tuna filet with salt and pepper!.

2!. Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet over high heat!. Add olive oil to the pan!. When hot but not smoking, add the tuna to the pan and sear it on all sides!.

3!. Cool and then chill the tuna!.

4!. In a small bowl add the mayo and whisk in wasabi to taste!.

5!. Slice the baguette in half lengthwise without cutting through one of the sides!. Scoop out some of the bread inside the baguette to make room for the filling!.

6!. Spread the bottom of the baguette with the wasabi-mayo and brush the inside of the top with some sesame oil!. Slice the tuna and place the slices in a single layer on top of the mayo!. Then top with the romaine leaves and the cucumber slices!. Season with salt and pepper, if desired!.

7!. Close the baguette and wrap tightly in foil!. Chill!.

8!. When ready to serve unwrap the sandwich and slice into 1/2-inch pieces!.


Seared Sesame-Coated Salmon Sandwich with Wasabi Mayonnaise

Ingredients
1 clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons minced ginger
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
3 (6-ounce) fresh salmon fillets
3 tablespoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 baguette
Wasabi Mayonnaise
Spinach leaves
1 cucumber, thinly sliced lengthwise


Preparation
Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl; brush over salmon!. Dredge salmon in sesame seeds!.
Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat; add salmon, and cook 4 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness!.

Split baguette; toast, if desired!.

Spread Wasabi Mayonnaise on bread; layer spinach, salmon, and cucumber!. Cut into 4 pieces!.
