Question: Types of Restaurant Service!?
what do you think the advantages and disadvantages of these types of restaurant services: american(plated)service, french service, russian (platter) service, English(family) service, Buffet, Counter Service!.!.!.Please cite at least 3 advantages/dis of these!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

French Service
Waiters heat plates and garnish food at side table or cart!.

Adv!. Very elegant
Dis!. Need lots of staff to feed even a small party

Russian Service
Waiters serve wedding guests individually from a silver platter!.

Adv!. a bit faster then French
Dis!. Again requires a large staff if all tables to be served in about the same time


Plated Service!.
Completing one table at a time, waiters carry the food out on plates!. The most elegant way to serve plated food is to have waiters carry two plates at the same time and choreographed by the captains blanket the room, completing one table at a time!.

Adv!. Can be done with a smaller staff
Dis!. Not as fast or as elegant

Buffet
Guests will help themselves!.
Adv!. Staff is minimal
Dis!. Greedy guests can exhaust food supply

English (family) service not sure but to me it means the food for the table is placed in the middle and each serve themselves!.

Adv!. Again smaller staff size
Dis!. Again greedy guests though less likely when others expected to eat are sitting watching
