Japanese people, does it annoy you how many people think that California rolls are sushi?!
Okay I know because of the whole sushi rice thing that it technically is, but does it ever annoy you that so many people walk into a grocery store and see a California roll and think, "Oh, this is sushi," when they've never tried any type of nigiri!? Does it annoy you that most people think that sushi is just rolls and nothing else!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm not even Japanese and it annoys me to no end how everyone just talks about california rolls like they are the only form of sushi and are completely ignorant of others things like nigiri, maki rolls, sashimi and other dips other that soy sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I'm not Japanese, and I'm not a big Sushi eater but at least I know the different types of Sushi out there and have tried a few, raw & cooked several times!. I think when it comes to California Rolls the only place I have tried it was at an All You Can eat Buffet at the Casino!. If I were to be at a Sushi Restaurant I would order what I am capable of eating and maybe try one that I haven't yet tried since it's better to experienced then not experienced at all!. No, because as you stated "technically it is"!. Just like people referring to a Tomato as a vegetable, when technically it is a fruit!.
What annoys me more is that people that:
1!. Don't know the difference between Sashimi and Sushi, but, think that they do!.
2!. All sushi should be (has to be) eaten with wasabi!.
3!. That all sushi is wrapped in seaweed!.
The list goes on, but I think you get my message!.!.!.

Most varieties that you find at any American Sushi restaurant, including California Roll, don't exist in Japan!. But you should see what Japan has done to American dishes!. Much less appealing!.!.!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
