Korean, Chinese restoraunt, pre-meal hot water?!
A while back I went to a Chinese/Korean restoraunt (it was both), and before our meal arrived, we were given this liquid in a thick ceramic cup!. It seemed like it was mere hot water, albeit with a sort of fishy smell and taste to it!. Anybody have any clue as to what it's for!? Should you actually drink it!? Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That was actually a Chinese tea!.
I know because I am Korean and I am very familiar with Chinese cuisine!.
Kinda smelly huh!?
Well it's just a little appetizing tea that authentic asian restaurants serve before they eat!.
It's very healthy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds like Green Tea
Some brands do smell and taste fishier than others!. Lipton's regular green tea is abosolutely horrible!. I like Bigelow's green tea with lemon!. Lipton does have some better quality ones now, but you can't just buy them at the store!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
