You mean this!?

"It is called Tarte flambeé", this iReport picture I sent is taken by my husband, which is the local fast food, very popular here! It is mainly composed of crème fra?che, onions and bacon on a very thin piece of dough and baked in a very hot oven for a couple of minutes and must be eaten quickly after it's been served because it does not taste good when it is cold!.Tarte flambeé is also available in other savoury and sweet flavours!.

Edit: People use thin dough, not bread!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've never been to France, but what you were describing reminded me of "pissaladiere" which is made from a pizza-like dough!.

Is this it!?
