What type of olive tastes like olive oil more than brine? ?!
Usually I hate olives, but I had these lovely ones at a bar the other night that tasted like salty olive oil, rather than that pickled flavor they usually have!. They were green and black and had the pit still in!. Can anyone identify them, or recommend something similar!? Www@FoodAQ@Com

go to a good deli that sells more then 4 varieties, ask the oldest man or woman there the same question, they will describe to you what they have in stock , what it tastes like and last but not least give you a taste of them, the olives that you tasted where placed in extra virgin olive oil so they can (sweeten up a little) you can do the same thing at home with the olives that you buy at the supermarket, with the (round mammoth variety) avoid the green ones with the pimento in them, the ones in a jar, the kallamata (long with the slice down the side) !.Www@FoodAQ@Com
They could have been Manzanilla olives (a green Spanish variety) and Kalamata (dark brown to black) or Nicoise (dark purple with little "meat" to it)!. Www@FoodAQ@Com
