Chinese people eat cats. do you?!
More specifically, most chinese people do!. and its not that i have anything against them, i just thinks that it is cruel and mean!. so i just wanted to know!.!.!.!.!., plus i am not chinese!. (again, no offense to chinese people) even more specifically, do you eat deer or dogs!? or any other cute defensless animals!. cause again, its really cruel!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I totally agree with Jake B!. Eating any kind of animal is cruel, if you are speaking from your point of view!. Pigs are cute, chickens are cute, cows are cute, they are totally defenseless when they are on the grill waiting to be your steak, burger or your ribs!.
What I'm trying to say is that, this is just part of the food chain!. I have no personal taste for eating dogs or cats!. I only eat chicken!. Take a lion, it will eat anything dead if it's hungry!. Does it care if it's cute!? No, it's an animal, just like humans!.
And you know what else is cruel!? Making fun of others because they can't accept the fact that cultures differ from each other!.

I agree with the other guy, that eating any kind of meat is cruel!. I love my cat, but I can respect that many people are hungry and that animals we see as pets they see as food!. Like the other guy said, we in America and Western Europe see beef as food, but eating a cow is blasphemy in India!.

Well, after serving in the military for 9 years and traveling around the world I can say that, as a white guy, yes I have eaten dog!. I've also had horse, sheep, deer, alligator, kangaroo, cow, chicken, etc!. etc!.
The only reason why you have a second thought about it is that we keep them as pets and develop personal relationships with them!. Eating the animals that you mention is no different than you eating chicken nuggets, having a ham sandwich, or buying a big mac at McDonalds!. In India they would say eating cattle would condemn you to hell (they worship cows)!.
If you saw the machines that are used to gut cattle in slaughter houses (while they are still standing and breathing) you'd probably be sick!. Still, few of us are vegatarians, and I honestly just love to have meat with my produce!. So, unless you are a true vegan, you can't seperate the idea of eating one innocent animal (cat) from any other (cow) without being a total hypocrite!.

Well, in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Some parts of china eating cats is considered inhuman!. No one in the right mind would eat them!. From what I heard in the more vulgar parts of china those people there say that cats taste sour!. I have never eaten any before and all my friends don't!. Perhaps you should change your question!. Killing ANY animal for food is 'cruel and mean' but since we can't all be vegans, we really shouldn't sit on our high horses (love horse meat) and condemn anyone or culture for their meat preferences!. BTW most Chinese don't eat cats!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
