I ama former chef and worked in Singapore and we had it on the menu there, and I have served it here in Canada also, kangaroos have only a few cuts that are edible, rump, tail and loin, the other can be tough due to there jumping and muscle structure!.

My first experience was with a tin of kangaroo tail soup I bought in Germany when there for Oktoberfest in 1985, a truly memorable event, Kangaroo meat is very lean and is much like beef in texture, not in taste so much, best grilled rare to medium rare and marinaded is nice as it is a bland meat, not illegal and the cull the wild red and giant wild herds for there own protection my Aussie friend who was the pastry chef in Singapore told me, even make burgers with the meat to!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I understand by watching a travel program on tv that it's not illegal to eat kangaroos, despite being a national animal!.

Anyway, it's said that kangaroo meat is very healthy because they hopped around!.

Too bad we cant find kangaroo meat here in my country, otherwise I will definitely give it a try!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Nope it's not!. It's becoming alot more common in Australia to serve/eat it as meat!. In fact in some places kangaroos are considered almost a pest because there are so many and they ruin crops, land etc so they're hunted as food!. Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, it is not, I live in Australia, and you can buy it at the supermarket, (like steaks and sausages)!. It is also what cat meat (the fresh stuff) is made fromWww@FoodAQ@Com

well in Australia kangaroo meat is sold in the supermarkets so obviously its not illegal,i've never tried kangaroo meat and i never will!.!.!.!.!.!.YUKK!Www@FoodAQ@Com

(I think) that kangaroos are endangered, so I suspect that that would be illegal!.

not if you can catch it ! l!.o!.l!.
i'm sure that aussie-land imports roo-meat and also there's established rancher's who offer many exotic-meat's such as emo, ostrich, buffalo's and many reptile's Www@FoodAQ@Com

I enjoyed my roo steaks while in Australia - better than beef!. This was at fine-dine restaurants so I guess it must be legal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
