This is usually a chef's special!. This means that although they are similar, each restaurant will have their own version!. I make mine using oyster sauce( you can usually get this at any market selling international foods) and soy sauce combined and thickened with cornstarch!. Some people will use a beef broth as the base and then add the soy or teryaki or oyster sauce, whatever their preference!. Tastes good either way, just depends on how strong you like the sauce!.
My version
1 tub of mushrooms rinsed and trimmed
4Tbsp oyster sauce
1!.5 Tbsp soy sauce
1 cup water
1 Tbsp!. corn starch
1 Tbsp vegetable oil ( not olive oil)
dissolve the cornstarch in half of the water and set aside!. Heat the oil in a skillet or wok, then stir fry the mushrooms on medium hi until tender!. In same skillet or wok, add the oyster sauce and the soy sauce and the other half of the water, cook until it boils!. Add the water/conrstarch mix, and stir continually until it thickens!.Then you're done!
If you do the beef broth version, just use it in addition to the water and add an extra Tbsp of cornstarch to make sure it gets thick enough!.

Hope this helps!
