Question: What r those rainbow chips that r served in chinese restaurants called !?!?
k so i was at this chinese restaurant a couple of days ago!.!.!.and one of my friends ordered these these chips that kinda had the texture of packing peanuts!.!.!.and they were all different colors!.!.!.i thought they were called sim chips or shim chips or something!.!.what are they called!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

shrimp chips!. You can actually find them in the asian section at the grocery store!. All you have to do is drop them in oil and the puff up!. Its actually kinda entertaining Www@FoodAQ@Com

They are all right and they are made with tapioca starch and before they cook them in the deep fryer they look like small clearish coloured coins and expand in the hot fat, I ama former chef from Canada and worked in Asia and have use them and the plain pink ones many times, even used to buy some and take them to my work places and fry them up for a snack in the kitchen, here in Toronto Canada, I can get a box of the raw ones for 99 cents and there are 30-50 piece per box, so in the restaurants when the sellan order for $2-4!.00 they make a big profit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
